As of July 7, 2025 the Wolf Fire is mostly contained in Riverside County, California (1). Active near Banning, approximately 85 miles east of Los Angeles, the 2,414-acre fire was spotted in the vicinity of Wolfskill Truck Trail and Old Banning Idyllwild Road.

The fire was impacting areas around Highway 243, which leads to the mountain community of Idyllwild.

As of July 7, the Wolf Fire is at 95% containment (2). Firefighters are actively working to reinforce and establish containment lines, aided by slightly cooler temperatures and higher humidity. The efforts are ongoing, with crews focusing on mopping up and patrolling the fire line to seek out hot spots.

Are there any evacuation orders or alerts in place?

Evacuation warnings, indicating a potential threat to life and/or property, have also been issued for additional zones ncluding RVC-0650-A, RVC-0653-A, BAN-0651-C, MRF-0749-B, RVC-0750-B and MRF-0751-A.

Shelters for evacuees have been set up at Hemet High School and the San Jacinto Valley Animal Campus for those affected by the evacuations.
